The Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ) is a not-for-profit membership organisation for people working in the area of dispute resolution. It is dedicated to promoting high quality dispute resolution services by its members to the public. AMINZ makes referrals and appointments. Conducting Safe Employment Investigations
Investigations are often necessary in the workplace, but getting a good result is challenging. Those investigating and those in a management position need to well understand how to conduct a safe investigation.

Format:
This practical one day seminar will include short lectures, interactive workshops and practice exercises. Written materials to assist you to conduct a safe investigation will also be supplied. Post-seminar mentoring is also available on request.

Chris Rowe FAMINZ (Med) BA, Grad Dip Bus Studies (Dispute Resolution), Auckland
Chris is a Mediator, Facilitator, Employment Relations Advisor and Investigator in private practice. She specialises in employment and small business and has conducted a wide range of employment investigations in the public and private sectors. Chris regularly facilitates and coaches groups in employment related matters and in conflict management and resolution. Chris is a Fellow (Mediation) and AMINZ Mediation Panel member.
David Patten FAMINZ (Arb / Med); LLB: BA, MBS, Wellington
David is a Fellow of the AMINZ and a barrister specialising in employment law. As part of his practice David has been appointed to a significant number of mediations both as an advocate and mediator. He was also a mediator with the Family Court Mediation Pilot scheme. He is a mediator for the NZ Law Society (pursuant to the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006) and is a member of the Wellington Branch, NZ Law Society Employment Law and ADR Committees.
For a number of years David was employed on a part-time basis teaching students enrolled in the Massey University Dispute Resolution Programme. He continues his association with the programme and Massey University being engaged in teaching dispute resolution subjects and as a Practicum tutor. David is also an AMINZ Councillor.
