Introduction
Recent studies confirm that "Driving and Managing Change", and "Fostering Creativity and Innovation" are among the top five critical skills needed by leaders in the future.
Creating Change Capability will build your skills in these two areas.
Creating Change Capability is a two-day workshop in which the powerful and engaging simulations ExperienceChange and Design Thinker are used to teach change leadership and the design thinking approach to innovation through action learning and focused personal experience.
Used by leading business schools and organisations, these acclaimed simulations are cutting-edge teaching tools.
Change leadership, featuring the ExperienceChange simulation will be the topic of the first day of each workshop and the Design Thinking approach to innovation, featuring Design Thinker will be the topic of the second day. It is possible to attend either or both days of this workshop, with two-day attendance offered at a very special rate.
Level: General
Course Description
In today’s constantly changing world, companies can no longer afford to think about change as something separate from everything else they do. They now have to be internally “change capable,” at all times.
But change capability is about more than just about being able to lead change. It’s also about being able to "scan" the changing environment and then to innovate to take advantage of opportunities that the changes may bring. A 'change-capable' leader thus has the ability to not only effortlessly lead change but also to innovate for competitive advantage.
Creating Change Capability uses cutting edge, compelling and cleverly constructed simulations to teach change leadership and the design thinking approach to innovation through first-hand practical experience.
In ExperienceChange, the focus is on Global Tech, a manufacturing company fraught with realistic change challenges. Through careful application of change management best practices, competing teams build stakeholder buy-in and lead the company to success.
In Design Thinker, competing teams flex their design thinking skills to advise Los Verdes, a town struggling to increase the sustainable behaviour of its citizens. In the process, they engage with the terms, techniques and thought-patterns of successful innovators.
Both simulations are widely used and highly acclaimed by leading business schools and organisations. Developed with global design consultancy IDEO, Design Thinker won Gold at the 2011 Edison Awards for best new product in its category.
